Reserve Your Session Date

I recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance to allow ample time for styling and location selection. Session times are based on sunrise/sunset.

FAQ

What is the best time of day for our session?

I am a natural light photographer, and by far the best time to capture the most gorgeous light is in the "Golden Hour." This prime time occurs in the hours closest to sunrise and sunset, which is why my session times are scheduled the way they are. I also highly recommend a weekday session if you can swing it to minimize the crowds! If these times just won't work for you and your family, I'm happy to discuss, but understand that the tone of your photos may be different from what you've seen in my portfolio.

How long are your sessions?

Typically 60 minutes. Bigger families often take longer and sometimes it takes my clients a little more time to really warm up to the camera, if we're capturing solid gold as the end of our session nears, you will always have the option to add more time onto your session.

Do you offer shorter sessions or mini-sessions?

As I mentioned in the question above, I find that some of the best photos from my sessions happen later in the session as clients get more and more comfortable in front of the camera. For that reason, I don't routinely offer mini-sessions. That said, I have offered a limited number of holiday mini-sessions perfect for families who just need a few photos for their holiday cards. If you're interested in staying in the loop, drop me a note and I'll be sure to let you know when these sessions become available.

Do I have to order prints through you?

Once you've purchased your collection, you will have the ability to download high-resolution digital images from your session. While I encourage you to consider printing through my professional lab, there are no restrictions as to when/where/how you use these files. They are your photos after all! However, as you'll learn through our time together, print quality can vary drastically between labs. My goal is for the photos from your session to not only last a lifetime, but be displayed as intended in the highest quality format. This quality can only be achieved through a professional print lab. Believe me, even as a photographer, my family would print at Costco or Walgreens. The cost is cheap, but for a reason! Once we migrated to printing through the same professional lab you will have access to, we have never looked back. Whatever you decide, at least be sure to use the print credit as part of your collection! A final word of advice, as Warren Buffett famously said, "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get."

What if the weather is bad the day of our session?

Let's all be flexible. I don't want to be standing in the rain for an hour any more than you do. If the weather is really rough, we'll reschedule your session! That said, clouds are not what I would consider bad weather. In fact, cloudy days can create some of the best images due to the interesting textures and because of the way they diffuse light evenly across your face. I'm always available to my clients before, during, and after their session, so if things are looking rough or if you have any concerns, never hesitate to reach out!

Will Shane ever let you get more dogs?

The answer is emphatically YES! He just doesn't know it yet.
